![]() ifi-device, which is from 2011, the MacBook Air can netboot over wifi from another Mac with the OSX install DVD in another Mac on the same network. It seems network booting over wifi is actually something some folk use. I'll make a separate post on my other idea as I can't see any other post asking the same thing. WiFi boot was just a way I was thinking might work for me to get around easily deploying, redeploying and backing up images to these hard to get Pis after I had an SD card die in one of them. ![]() Yes it has known vulnerabilities now that make it easier to crack, but a long and random shared key will still make that implausible to use. WPA is "broken" now, and most WPA2 can be cracked reasonably easily as well. That's true, but booting the device opens up a whole different can of worms, since absolutely everything is coming over the wifi.
